Playing The Star
Not really!! But, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone on Monday, went to London and did the live show for Nick Jr. I was absolutely terrified, I’m such a natural introvert that, despite being incredibly opinionated, the idea of sitting in a studio with eyes all on me made my stomach drop out of my feet. Overall I think it went fine (although I haven’t seen it yet!) and mostly, I’m really proud that I went for it.
Watch out for my ‘media appearances’ tab coming soon…*
I can’t confirm much at the moment other than to say that it finally looks like big changes are afoot in our household.
By this time next week I will 100% know one way or the other. For my sanity I hope it’s good news!
Mummy is Beautiful
On Sunday, whilst I was sat waiting for the kids to get ready for bed, Eli came up to me, put his hand on my leg and said “Mummy is beautiful.” I got such a huge lump in my throat, I didn’t even know he knew the word beautiful, let alone could attribute it as being a descriptive word for someone. My Other Half swears he didn’t prompt him so I am just going to accept it as one of those wonderful parenting moments when you realise your kids think the world of you.
Then on Tuesday, when I was driving Meg and Eli to nursery, Taylor Swift came on the radio and Meg asked if it was me singing. Talk about a compliment! Stars in their Eyes, here I come!!**
I can truly say that this week has been the best we’ve had for a long time. It’s amazing to think that for so long we’ve been living under the “If Only” cloud and I hope that now things have started to change and develop for us, that we will continue to be grateful for the opportunities we are being given and that we will make the most of them!!
I am linking this up with Michelle’s ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’ – why not check out some of the other entries this week?
* just kidding!!
** definitely kidding!
