Review: Antler Luggage

Jess McGlynnJuly 11, 2013

I was really excited when I was asked to review an Antler Cyberlite Suitcase on our holiday this year.  As the kids have grown, the small holdall style bags we have used for them previously are no longer any good so we were on the lookout for a suitable case we could use.

When the case arrived, I will admit to considering taking it for myself.  The colour was a gorgeous green, and the case itself was so lightweight.  Despite the fact we were using this for a car journey, I think it would be great for use on a flight.  It was ridiculously light, so much so that Meg was able to lift it out of the box and wheel it around without any trouble at all.  This was also helped by the slick wheel function, otherwise known as ‘easy glide’.

We were sent a medium case to review and there was more than enough space for 2 weeks worth of clothes for Meg and Eli.  We didn’t even need to use the expandable section as everything fit in just fine.

With regards to the weight of it, even once it was filled with clothes and toiletries, it was still much easier to lift than our other two cases and Meg could again, move it around with ease.

The case also has front and side pockets and a TSA combination lock (which impressed my Other Half!) for international travel.

The top of the case is soft and this is the only thing that made me pause.  I would be interested to see what it came out looking like after use on a plane journey.  I have had several other cases which have come out on the conveyor belt at the airport looking battered and worse for wear.  Having a soft top makes me wonder whether it would get squashed from being thrown around.  We did place a heavier suitcase on top of it in the car, and it retained it’s shape and shows no signs of even being used but I don’t think that is as rigorous as it would be on a plane journey!

The Antler Cyberlite comes in 4 different colours and you can choose from Large, Medium and Cabin Sized.  You can see the full range here.

I was very pleased with our suitcase and am hoping to get many years out of it.  It comes with a 10 year warranty too which is brilliant!!  I would definitely recommend it for use on your travels this summer.

Meg and Eli loved having their own case like Mummy and Daddy and they also loved the colour.  It was bright enough for them and stylish enough for us which is a great balance; I can still remember the look of horror on my parents face when I chose a fuschia pink suitcase for our holidays abroad.  The only plus to that is there was never anyone else with a similarly coloured case to fight off at the luggage collection point!!
