As regular readers will know, Meg started school last week and in the run up to the ‘Big Day’ I could be found trawling the internet looking for tips and recommendations for what we needed and how we could manage this huge change.
One of the things I saw absolutely everywhere when talking about going back to school was labelling. Labelling clothes, labelling lunch boxes, labelling bottles, labelling shoes, labelling labelling labelling. The thought filled me with horror to be honest. I was instantly taken back to my school days with sewn on name labels and the thought of having to sit and stitch labels into all Meg’s clothes left me feeling cold.
So I was thrilled when Stuck On You offered me the opportunity to review some of their products. Especially when I logged onto their website and discovered they had NO-SEW labels…hurray!
When it comes to the clothing labels, there is a lot of choice. You can personalise the labels with colour, different styles of writing and a little image. We opted for pink (naturally!), with a little flower symbol. I’m glad there is the option of the image as twice since she started, Meg has come out with another little girl’s items because her initials are also MM. Now I have been able to coach Meg that when it comes to her clothes and shoes she needs to look for the flower symbol.
The labels were so easy to attach, with clear instructions. I have washed each item a few times and the labels have stayed put too which is brilliant. I had heard people say that after a couple of washes the iron on labels tended to fade but this hasn’t been the case.
We also chose some shoe dots which have been brilliant. I was quite dubious and expected them to fall off after Meg had her shoes on and off a few times but they have stayed put and are as good as new. The stickers have been treated so that the image doesn’t rub away either over time which is great. I like that you get a good number of stickers in the packs too so even if Meg outgrows her shoes this year, we’ve got stickers left over for new ones.
They don’t just sell labels either at Stuck on You, they have a whole collection of items which are perfect for use at school or nursery. We also ordered a personalised lunchbox, library bag and a bag tag. Suffice to say I was one very prepared and happy mama!
Meg really enjoyed choosing the images that she wanted and it was very helpful when she left her lunchbox today and had to describe it to one of the other children in her After School Club who ran back for it!
We have been really pleased with the items we were sent and I would recommend them. Ordering was really easy and the items arrived about a week after the order was placed. The lovely folk at Stuck on You have also offered four of my readers the opportunity to win a £25 voucher. Just complete the rafflecopter to enter.
