Goodbye Summer 2013

Jess McGlynnSeptember 10, 2013

As I sit and type rain is hammering against the french windows.  This morning when I took the dog for a walk I could see my breath.  I think I can safely say that the summer has ended.

I’m not sad to see the end of summer, autumn is without a doubt my favourite time of the year.  I love the crispness of the morning, the crunch of fallen leaves under my feet and the golden tones of the season.  Not to mention I get to bring out my autumn wardrobe which consists of grey jumpers, grey boots, grey t-shirts, lots and lots of lovely grey!

We have had a lovely time this summer.  We obviously didn’t get off to too great a start with Meg’s accident but moving ever forwards we have visited a lot of friends, had some lovely days out, enjoyed a fair number of delicious ice-creams, spent afternoons lazing in the park and so much more.

As the kids get older we are finding more opportunities to just hang out as a family and have a good time, which was really the essence of what we tried to do this summer.  I think by the number of big grins on their faces in the photographs we took, we didn’t do too badly with this!

I’m looking forward to seeing what autumn has in store for us!
