When the lovely folk at Creative Tops told me about their Mr Men baking competition I was keen to get involved. We love baking and we are definitely fans of eating the results so little encouragement was needed for us to give it a go.
Creative Tops have a variety of Retro Mr Men recipe cards available to download. I printed out the entire selection and let Eli choose the one he wanted to do and he opted for Mr Nosey’s Nests.
All the recipes are perfect for baking with children, Eli did most of the work himself with just a little bit of help from me. The only trouble we had was with finding eggs. Apparently chocolate eggs don’t exist when it isn’t Easter! We decided to use some smarties instead and Eli had great fun matching the coloured cupcake case to the same coloured smarties. Any excuse for a sneaky learning opportunity.
Overall they tasted delicious and I think Meg and Daddy agreed when they got home. Eli definitely looked the part in his apron and chef’s hat too.
Creative Tops currently have a baking with kids Facebook competition running at the moment on their page. If you want to get involved all you have to do is download one of the recipes (click the image below, save and print) and then post a photo of your children baking. Easy peasy! It’s a rolling competition and they will pick a winner every month or so.
