Children’s Book Review: Spaghetti with the Yeti

Jess McGlynnOctober 8, 2013

This is a lovely rhyming book by Adam & Charlotte Guillain about a boy called George who sets off on an adventure to find the Yeti armed with a tin of spaghetti.  He isn’t really sure what the Yeti looks like and so every time he meets a monster he thinks they are the Yeti and becomes more disheartened each time they reveal they aren’t.

The monsters all offer George advice on what the Yeti likes to eat but when he eventually gets to meet the elusive Yeti it turns out all he really wants to eat is spaghetti!

This book is brilliant for young children with it’s silly rhymes and funny pictures.  Meg and Eli absolutely loved it and we have read it almost every night since we received it for the review.  The illustrations are colourful and attractive and complement the story perfectly.

Meg is especially a fan of the individual monsters and their interesting names and outfits.  She loves to talk about what her monster would look like and wear if she were making her own which I like…any book which gets the imagination flowing is a good choice.

You can find this book for sale on Amazon for £5.99 which is a great price for such a top bedtime story.

This is the first book in a new series and we can’t wait for the next one to be released next year, Marshmallows for Martians!
