It’s hard to capture what our mornings look like but on weekdays they are generally complete chaos. My Other Half gets up at 5.30am, takes the dog for a ride on his bike (he rides, the dog runs, obviously!) before heading off to work at 6.20am.
My alarm is set for 7am but I’m usually woken by the sound of a little boy rattling the gate on his bedroom door, hollering to be let out long before then.
Then it’s all systems go. Two children to wash, dress, feed, and usher out of the door before 8.15am. School starts at 8.50am and in an effort to be environmentally conscious and because Meg did a term on healthiness at school and so regularly informs me that it’s important to exercise, we try to walk to school most days.
Of course, it’s easy to do that when the weather is nice; a lot more difficult when it’s chucking it down with rain which it seems to do a lot here in the North West.
I could have taken a picture of the utter chaos we leave behind every morning but instead I thought I’d show you what happens when we close the door. It’s quite a nice walk to school, with lots of animals to see depending on which route we choose to walk and it’s relatively calm. Of course, Meg talks ten to the dozen about everything she’s thought of since 7pm the previous evening but usually, I can handle that!
