The Gallery: #widrn

Sticky Fingers Photo Gallery

As a prolific #selfie taker, it shouldn’t surprise too many people to learn that when I saw the theme for this week’s The Gallery was the hashtag #widrn (what I’m doing right now) my first thought was to take a selfie.

However, that’s not actually a good representation of what I’m doing and to be honest, who wants to look at my face!?

It’s Sunday, Mother’s Day and the time is 7pm.  The children are in bed, my Other Half is doing the dishes after making me the most delicious roast dinner and I am looking through photos that were taken today to see whether I can use any in my blog posts this week, and at the same time I am studiously ignoring the toys on the lounge floor!

I have had an amazing day, starting with the beautiful necklace Meg and Eli gave me first thing this morning which was totally unexpected…let’s just say that my Other Half is usually the ‘last minute dash out to the supermarket on Sunday morning’ type of person!

We followed this up with some divine bacon butties, then after church we went for a walk along the Ribble Estuary, hunted for bugs, got scared by some horses, turned back and came home where we hung out for the afternoon engaging in some trampoline fun before eating the yummy roast.

Now I am sat, enjoying a glass of cava and feeling very at peace with my little world.

Head over to The Sticky Fingers blog to see how other bloggers interpreted this week’s theme.

And now I'm jealous all over again. My Mother's Day was…..let's just say it wasn't what I had hoped for. When will I learn?! Sounds like you had a wonderful day 🙂

Cheers! That sounds like a proper Mother's Day! We had heartache at a rugby tournament and nobody helped me with anything or made me any nice meals. I used to get good presents, but now the kids are older my husband thinks they should buy them themselves. So we're into 'it's the throught that counts' territory! To be honest, I liked the nice presents I used to get!

Sorry to hear that. I was completely taken by surprise as I wasn't even expecting a card. It's my first real Mother's Day experience I think 🙂

It's a funny old thing isn't it – this year was the first year I've had a 'real' gift and I think that was a lot to do with Meg being aware that they needed to get me something and bossing her dad about. But I think when they get older and it's left entirely to them, I'll find myself in the same boat x

Sounds like a wonderful day. I woke up rather hungover, so spent the day coming back round, although did do that with a walk on the beach.

That sounds idyllic, how lovely. I was at a kid's birthday party 12-4pm on Mother's Day, that's a bit mean isn't it?
