For absolutely ages I have wanted to get the kids a playhouse so I am really excited to be finally writing this post. It is a joint birthday present for the kids and I have spent many an hour scouring the internet for the perfect playhouse for them.
After some discussion, my Father in Law offered to build them a playhouse to any specification we wanted…and so the obsession really began!
We came up with a rough plan of what we wanted the house to look like.
This is our before shot, an unused corner of the garden that, as you can see, has been used for the storage of odds and ends which are no longer needed. I hope that by the end of the week it will be totally transformed.
On Friday we took a delivery of wood, on Sunday we cleared the busy space and building work began and today I am writing to the sounds of drilling and hammering as the construction begins.
Our deadline is mid-week, smack in the middle of the two birthdays and as my role is painting, I’ve got a lot to get done in the next couple of days!
I know it’s going to be worth it though when the kids see the big reveal. Unfortunately, because Meg is so flipping bright, when she saw the wood arriving she twigged immediately that she was getting a playhouse but this has actually been better as we have been able to involve the kids in some of the process, such as our visit to B&Q to purchase the paint.
