Siblings {September}

Jess McGlynnSeptember 15, 2015

What a difference a month can make.  From sun and sandy beaches to uniforms and thick winter coats!

At the start of the month I was worried about how Meg and Eli would cope with being at school together, Meg in particular.  She loves her brother dearly and they are always locked away together playing games when they are at home but she also likes to have her own space and being at school gave her that outlet.  She had already expressed concern that Eli would want to play with her the whole time they were at school and she wouldn’t see her friends…

It has been a mixed story.  Eli does play with Meg at school during break times but Meg actually doesn’t seem to mind.  On the first day, as I was tucking her up and saying goodnight she whispered in my ear, ‘I am so proud of Eli. He’s at school now.’  Which was pretty much music to my ears.  They are going to be fine.

Me, on the other hand?  I’ve been finding it more than a little bit strange being on my own in the house 5 days a week now and have found that my routine is completely out of kilter.  This is my excuse for leaving my photos until the very last minute this month.  The 15th just sort of crept up on me.

Good job my kids are so compliant when it comes to sitting and smiling nicely for photos then…

    They might be last minute… But these are definitely my favourite siblings photos of your two ever! Just lovely! Xx

    Oh what lovely happy smiley photos. And I can only imagine how strange it feels to have the house to yourself – very disconcerting but also very peaceful!

    Gorgeous photos and what a fun moment between the two of them to capture. So glad that Meg has adjusted well to Eli being at the same school – what a proud mummy moment that must have been for you when she told you she was proud of her little brother 🙂

    Ah, gorgeous photos, especially that last one. Must be a huge change for you, though made easier by them both getting on together well at school x

    Oh these are so cute Jess, they look so happy and smiley with each other. I think black and white makes them more emotive and lovely too. Sometimes last minute is always the best! x
