As much as I love the festive season (and I do, I really really do…) there is something very lovely and refreshing about that moment when the decorations come down, the rooms in the house are returned to their previous state and everything looks clean again. It puts me very much in mind of the clear slate we are offered at the beginning of a new year.
Last year we did so many good and exciting things and I achieved a lot more than I would have thought not least of all was the publishing of my first book, Secrets of the River. I have to say that self-publishing the book was the absolute highlight of my year and something I truly never thought would happen and it certainly wouldn’t have happened but for the confidence I was given through writing this blog.
From a whimsical idea to something real and tangible which is slowly allowing me to follow my dreams of writing for a living, who would ever have thought?!
I sat this week and had a real think about some of the things I would like to achieve in 2016. I have usually taken quite a laid back approach with my blog, preferring things to just happen as they happen but this year I’d quite like to take it a step further, whilst still maintaining an organic feel to it all, if that’s possible.
I would like to travel more, to increase my Instagram presence, finish writing my second manuscript, to *maybe* find an agent for Secrets of the River and to continue to share our family’s little adventures near and far with my wonderful and trusty readers.
That isn’t too much, is it?!
