My Reads: The 2016 A-Z Update

Jess McGlynnJanuary 6, 2016

Looking back through my posts at the end of last year I was surprised to see I hadn’t done an A-Z update since September!  I think I have been sharing what I’ve been reading in my Friday #LittleLoves posts but haven’t really done a proper catch-up.

To be honest, although I didn’t finish the challenge (I made it to T) I got a lot further on than I was expecting, I read books I wouldn’t ever have picked up otherwise and I’ve got plenty of recommendations to keep me going for the future.

There is some small part of me that is debating whether to carry on and get to the end just because I have a propensity to need to see things concluded (hence why I very rarely walk away from books because I have to see how they end even if I don’t find the story enjoyable) but we will see what grabs me from my TBR pile when I’ve finished the book I am currently reading.

I am pleased that I gave it a good go, so thank you to Claire for suggesting it and I might just find myself joining in with the new book challenge she is carrying out in 2016 with some other lovely bloggers.

Of the books I read this past year there are some which have really stuck out to me:-

‘Rebecca’ by Daphne Du Maurier
‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee
‘Unbroken’  by Laura Hillenbrand

All fantastic reads.

You got a long way through it, though. I think I'd have to finish it, too, as like you, I can never leave a book part way through either!

Sounds like you did really well Jess and you should be proud of yourself. I got 'To Kill A Mockingbird' for Christmas. I studied it at school but I really want my teens to read it 🙂
