Review – Hunkemöller Loungewear
Hang around with me long enough and it will soon become pretty apparent that I love all things cosy. As an introvert at heart there is little I love more than settling down wearing my comfiest clothing, accompanied by a good book, a warm drink and a blanket or two!
So when Hunkemöller reached out to ask whether I would be interested in reviewing their range, I immediately skipped over their extensive lingerie department and headed straight for the loungewear!
For a little background; Hunkemöller are one of Europe’s largest lingerie specialists. They have an in-house team who are dedicated to creating high quality products which remain affordable. They also strive to cater for every body shape and size, with beautifully finished garments. Aside from lingerie, Hunkemöller also offer swimwear, sportswear, nightwear, hosiery and accessories.
Being the creature of habit that I am, I opted for some gorgeous grey fleece leggings with a pale pink fleece top to accompany it. This is no reflection on the items themselves but I am sad to say they are still being worn as we head into this most chilly of British summers!
The items arrived in a gorgeous pink box, adding a real sense of luxury to the delivery and I have been so impressed with the two items I chose. They have worn and washed extremely well, and have remained as soft and comfortable as they were when they arrived. I have to tell you that Meg has been extremely jealous and often asks me when she can have her own leggings like mine…she definitely takes after me with needing her cosy clothing.
I would say that the prices are mid-range; a loungewear top will set you back around £18.00 whilst the leggings are around £22-25.00. They also offer a daily ‘basic’ bra range with prices starting from £21.50. Basing my opinion on the type of item I would usually buy for myself I would view these as an indulgence. I know some people are happy to spend far more, or some to spend far less, but for me this is a middle level. I’d buy it to treat myself but it probably wouldn’t be a staple. That said, the quality has impressed me and the fact the garments have both washed so well makes the prices seem very reasonable overall. I can obviously only speak to the quality of the loungewear but it sets the bar quite high!
Whilst they do have a number of stores across Europe, Hunkemöller currently do not have stores open in the UK; however their website is very easy and straightforward to use, with some helpful extras such as the Bra Solutions and Sexy Shapes tools.
Overall I was very pleased with the products I was sent to review and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from Hunkemöeller myself, the next time I am in need of new nightwear or lingerie. I would highly recommend taking a look for yourself.
